Corporate Battle of the Bands 2019 was BIG!

On Saturday night hundreds of energetic supporters crowded into the Charles Hotel to watch six local corporate bands take to the stage and battle it out in support of Youth Focus and Cystic Fibrosis WA. From crazy costumes to crowd surfing, this charity gig had it all!

As the defending champions, CoveFefe (Cove Legal) were up first to get the party started. Kitted out in their cowboy themed gear they warmed up the crowd and set the bar for the other acts. Next up were repeat performers Critical Incident (St Johns Ambulance) who drew a big crowd that filled the dance floor. Third up were The Grain Kings (GrainKing), one of Cystic Fibrosis WA’s supporters and first time performers at the event. They took to the stage like naturals and were followed by second time performers The Sweet Pavlovas (ARUP), who wowed everyone with their incredible vocals. Band five was The Locktones (Lockton) who were newcomers to the event as well and last but not least was SMASHED (Limestone Coast Brewing) who have been performing at the event for years.

The Judges, John Carey, ‘Boz’ and Patrick, had a tough decision to make and after much deliberation they crowned ‘The Locktones’ the winners of 2019, handing over the prestigious trophy and well-earned bragging rights. SMASHED won over the crowd and took home the Popular Choice award for 2019, well done.

A big shout out to Roger and Phillip who worked hard to organise the event again this year. Thanks to all their supporters who worked behind the scenes with sound, lighting, stage management and more, to make the night run smoothly. Thank you to the bands for entertaining the masses and sponsoring the event. A special mention to the CFWA volunteers Kandy, Anna and Kerry for supporting the CFWA team on the night. Thank you also to our raffle and prize donors Michelle Kiddie Photography, Angove St Kitchen & Espresso Bar, Kaos Hair Studio, Luscious Skin Therapy and Artisan Music. Finally, thank you to The Charles Hotel for hosting us and providing support for the event.
