Our History
Cystic Fibrosis WA (CFWA) was established by a group of parents in 1975. Since those early days, we have grown into a professional not for profit organisation.
Today we provide a comprehensive range of services, in home support, and resources for people affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) in Western Australia. We have built strong partnerships and continue to collaborate with a range of state and national organisations, and contribute extensively to CF research.
Our Vision
Lives Unaffected by CF
Our Vision is ‘Lives Unaffected by CF’, where every person born with CF will be able to reach their full potential, unencumbered by the disease. Every day we strive a little closer to achieving that vision.
Our Tagline
Embracing Tomorrow
Our tagline, ‘Embracing Tomorrow’, is used by cystic fibrosis organisations around Australia.
‘Embracing Tomorrow’ is a statement that reflects a promise to our communities that we provide care, regardless of what their tomorrow holds, recognising that everyone’s journey is different. It reflects that with improvements in drug therapies and treatments, the services we provide in the future may need to change. It reflects the continued pursuit of a cure and better treatments for all people living with cystic fibrosis.
Importantly, we see it as a reflection of powerful stories of fully lived experiences, the resilience of our communities, and a statement of hope for the future.
Please join us in Embracing Tomorrow.
Our Mission
To provide services to people affected by CF and other respiratory conditions as well as support research, partnering with members, organisations and other stakeholders.
