About National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and is held on 20-26 May 2024. Celebrated annually, this year’s theme is ‘Something for Everyone’. The week will aim to recognise the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering.
First established in 1989, National Volunteer Week is the premier celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia. As the national peak body for volunteering, Volunteering Australia is the lead agency for National Volunteer Week.
Volunteers Making a Difference
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week 2024, we’d like to recognise and thank the volunteers of Cystic Fibrosis WA who give their time and energy selflessly. Throughout the year, we have dozens of volunteers contribute to our fundraising activities, bringing immense value to our communities.
We’d like to take a moment to show our appreciation to Ron and Adrienne, two year-round volunteers.
Ron
Ron, our amazing ‘Tin Man’ volunteer, is always on the lookout for somewhere new to place a tin around Perth. He greets all the store managers with a friendly smile and thanks to him, the Tin Program has never been better! Ron is always the first person to put his hand up to help with any other tasks or deliveries that need doing.
Adrienne
Adrienne volunteers in the office once a week and keeps our Tin Program paperwork expertly under control. Not only that, but she happily volunteers to help with whatever tasks the day brings and has also been know to shake a donation tin and sell roses on 65 Roses Day. Her enthusiasm to help and passion for the cause make her a delight to have in the office.
