Jonah’s Pill Swallowing Journey
Jonah is just about to turn seven and lives with CF, which means taking daily medication is essential for him to stay well. Swallowing tablets had become a real barrier, no matter how many approaches his mum tried, the pills wouldn’t go down, and without them he couldn’t stay on the treatment that made such a difference to his health.
A visit from Sharon (CFWA), changed things. She worked with Jonah using simple, practical techniques to help him learn how to swallow tablets safely and confidently. The progress was immediate. Within days, his mum sent a message saying, “Too good of news not to share — Jonah has swallowed his medication 3 days in a row, even without water yesterday. I’m blown away. There’s no way it would have happened without the visit from Sharon.”
Now Jonah is back on Trikafta, and his mum can hardly believe how quickly things turned around. “I honestly can’t believe it,” she said. “I really thought we were a few years off. To think he is back on Trikafta again has answered all my prayers.”
