COVID Care at Home
The COVID Care at Home program is now available. Please note, people with CF who are COVID positive can register for this program, but you should also inform and have contact with the specialist CF team.
The COVID Care at Home program has been designed for people who test positive for COVID and who have other underlying health conditions, such as the immunocompromised, those with significant chronic heart and/or respiratory disease or diabetes, which may place them more at risk.
COVID Care at Home is a virtual service and checks in via phone, video call or SMS depending on symptoms and need and can escalate advanced care and admission swiftly if there is a deterioration in your health. It is staffed by well-trained GPS, nurses and administration and will link to other support services if required.
Pulse oximeters are provided for those who need them but no other consumables are provided.
People are generally discharged from the program after 7 days if symptoms have subsided and a discharge letter is sent to your GP.
