Our last trip to the Pilbara for 2023 and the sunny warm weather was such a pleasant welcome. The Newman Day Care Centre led by Clare is an inviting, friendly, and positive environment with passionate educators and happy kids.
We spent the morning yarning with staff, meeting children and sharing our resources. The trip also included engaging with BHP Pilbara Education Partnerships Family Liaison Officer, Kelly, Jodie from the Martu Education Centre, and the team at PAMS who are all keen to learn more about chronic wet cough and share the message with the community.
This is a long-term goal for the program to have community members and health services who live and work in regional areas sharing the message “If Li`l one has a wet cough for more than 4 weeks, get them to clinic quick” and building our network of CWC Community champions for the Pilbara region!
