The first trip for 2023 for the Chronic Wet Cough team was south to Esperance. Our trip started in the KindiLink classroom at Nulsen Primary where we met with a beautiful group of mums, kids and teachers who have created a welcoming, warm space to share, connect and learn. We shared our message “If li`l one has a wet cough for more than four weeks get them to clinic quick.”
From here we shared our message with Escare who coordinate community groups in town and work to share health messages with their families. Our next day included education with the Esperance population health team and a visit with Esperance High School (Stars Foundation and Clontarf) with a great group of teachers and students who were so welcoming and engaged and their reading of the flip chart was inspiring. What brave kids, standing in front of their classmates to share this important message, such assets to their community!
Watch this space for more ideas and resources from this little community. Next stop the Wheatbelt.
