Chronic Wet Cough- Carnarvon Outreach

Next trip north and a new town to visit was Carnarvon where we met with Population Health team, Department of Communities and Aboriginal Medical services to deliver our chronic wet cough message.

Staff in this region are excited about sharing the resources with their families and shared an array of new ideas on how to engage with the community of Carnarvon. They are very keen to participate in our train-the-trainer program and become community champions for the Carnarvon region.

One of the resources that is becoming widely successful in delivering the chronic wet cough message is our bookmark with a QR code for a link to Telethon and the BREATH team`s resources for communities and health services to access and share. And finally, if you are travelling to Carnarvon stop in at the Jardilunji Mia Café  “Place of eating” located at the Gwoonwardu Mia Centre where you can experience a fantastic local initiative with the local TAFE hospitality students learning the skills of the trade of working in a café and you can enjoy beautiful customer service and maybe even a cuppa and a lemon myrtle scone!

Remember “If your L’il has a wet cough for more than four weeks get them to the clinic quick.”
