Fantastic Fundraising for May Month 2019!

Fantastic Fundraising for May Month 2019

We had a big couple of months of awareness and fundraising recently with thousands raised through 65 Roses Challenges!

We know that every effort from members of the community help to make a big difference to children and adults living with cystic fibrosis in WA. We want to recognise and thank some wonderful people who have been working hard to spread awareness for CF and raise funds to help support them.

‘Just Breath’ Yoga

Last year’s CFWA volunteer of the year award winner Kandy held a Just Breathe Yoga event to raise funds and awareness CF in May. Thank you to Yab Yum Yoga who generously offered their studio and Louise Lawrence from Kosha Connections who shared her expertise and lead the session. Together Kandy and her supporters raised $975!

Madisyn’s Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

Karratha local Madisyn recently did the brave and self-less act of cutting off her long hair to raise awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis (CF). Her inspiration for the fundraiser was her cousin Benjamin Maxey Nigel, who lived with CF. If cutting her hair and raising over $2,000 wasn’t awesome enough, she also donated her hair to Wigs for Kids!

Madisyn had help from her supportive school, Karratha PS, and her family and friends, including mum Nicole who helped with the fundraising side. Well done and thank you Madisyn, Nicole and the Karratha community.

Crack A Cure Egg Challenge

Aaron recently took on a ‘Crack-A-Cure” challenge to crack an egg on his head for every $100 donated to his fundraising page in support of his little brother Cameron, who lives with CF. His initial goal was to raise $500, but thanks to the support of his school, Australian Christian college, he raised over $1,600 – the equivalent of 16 eggs to crack!

Some of his brave teachers took their place alongside Aaron in support of his efforts and the CF community. It was a messy eggy fate for Aaron and his teachers, but a fantastic fundraising result and a great support for children and adults living with CF in WA.

Thankyou Aaron, Cameron and all the staff at Australian Christian College for taking on the challenge!
