Celebrating the Life of Rachael Hosking

The CFWA Board and staff would like to acknowledge the life and contributions of former Board member Rachael Hosking who passed away on Friday 5 May 2023 after fighting illness.

Rachael was passionate about raising awareness and funds for CF, having a son with CF. She gave generously of her time to the CFWA Board, which she served on for over 12 years, having retired from the Board in May 2021.

Rachael was respected and valued for her insight and professionalism in the role; together with her hands on contribution to pursuing CFWA’s goals, enhancing governance and supporting the staff. She always kept the CF community and its needs at the forefront of discussions.

CFWA Board and staff members fondly remember Rachael’s Cape to Cape fundraiser in 2019, where she and her friend Kathryn walked the 130km stretch between the lighthouses of Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin in the south west of WA and  raised an incredible $7,545 through donations from friends, family and colleagues. Rachael received CFWA’s supporter of the year award in 2020 and continued to support CFWA on an ongoing basis.

Rachael will be greatly missed and remembered for her courageous and passionate outlook on life. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
