My Relationships

My Relationships

CF can shape all kinds of relationships, from family life to friendships, dating, and how you see yourself. With advances in healthcare and treatments, many people who have experienced significant health improvements are noticing changes in these relationships, both positive and challenging. At the same time, not everyone has benefited in the same way, and some people may be navigating ongoing health challenges or feelings of being left behind or disconnected from the CF community.

This section explores how identity and relationships can evolve over time across different experiences of CF, and how connection, understanding, and support can make a real difference.

Extra Support

CFWA can help connect you with trusted information, tools, and services to support your relationships, identity, and social wellbeing across all stages of life. Whether you’re navigating family roles, parenting, partnerships, friendships, caring responsibilities, or the emotional impact of changing health, our team can help point you toward the right support.

This might include psychosocial support, peer connection opportunities, counselling referrals, respite services, or resources to help you navigate relationship changes over time.

CFWA also offers specific programs including peer connection opportunities, mental health resources, and respite support. You can read some stories from young carers here.

For more information or to discuss your options, contact our Services Team at services@cfwa.org.au or (08) 6224 4100.

If you’d like additional support around relationships, identity, or life transitions, we can also help connect you with counselling or coaching services. These supports offer a safe, one-on-one space to reflect, build insight, and develop practical strategies for connection and wellbeing.
