Following the success of the ‘Evening with the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Scientists’ held at TKI back in May this year, Cystic Fibrosis WA (CFWA) and Telethon Kids Institute (TKI) decided to collaborate to share the information with regional members in Bunbury.
CFWA gave an overview of current services, fundraising events, scholarship grants for researchers and other research currently funded through CFWA fundraising.
Dr Luke Garratt from the ARESTCF (Australian Respiratory Early Surveillance Team for Cystic Fibrosis) team provided a snapshot of current research undertaken at TKI.
The evening also included a presentation from regional member Elle Lawrance who talked about her role on the CF Consumer group. This is an important role as it informs clinical and research practices from a regional consumer’s perspective.
